Desolator is a Swedish old school death metal band started in 2009. “Sermon of Apathy” is the band’s second full-length album – the logical follow-up to hailed 2016 EP “Spawn of Misanthropy”, where the band found a more progressive, atmospheric sound. Today, Desolator is a lethal mix of Swedish and American death metal.
“Sermon of Apathy” features 7 songs and two of them, “Portal Tomb” and “Creature of Habit” are available for your listening pleasure before the release date. It was mixed and mastered by Swedish audio aficionado Jari Lindholm, and the closing track “The Great Law of the Dead” features a guest solo by Nile’s Karl Sanders.
The album will be out on September 4th on Black Lion Records.

Listen to the singles from the album
The two pre-release singles “Portal Tomb” and “Creatures of Habit” are available for your listening pleasure.
“Portal Tomb”
“Portal Tomb” is the opening track and first single from the album, mixing raw old school death metal attitude and epic atmosphere. It centers around the H.P. Lovecraft universe and musically showcases the more atmospheric sides of the Desolator sound (while not forsaking the death metal extremity, of course).
“Creatures of Habit”
Second single “Creatures of Habit” is another pummeling, monolithic piece of old school death metal. Lyrically, it’s a statement on the distressing times we’re living in. The music is a feast for Immolation fans, as it’s a strange mix between dissonance and melody. Hail the senselessness, hail the empty throne!
